Romance versus Caregiving

I am very in love with Adam Augustuz Renzi. He has stepped boldly, easily and courageously into being a responsible parter of someone who has sustained a TBI. I am careful to keep him from slipping into a “caregiver” role.

He certainly makes my life easier and safer. It requires effort to not allow myself to get comfortable and lose any forward momentum in the recovery. I am breaking any habits of relying on him. I use to say “remind me to…” and instead say aloud “I desire to remember…”

I will not to let this brain injury also injure our romantic relationship.
